Powell Butte

Last Saturday, I dragged Matt out for a hike with me. (He hates walking or running because 'its boring'. ugh.) We went up to Powell Butte and it was gorgeous!! Luckily, Saturday was great weather and no rain, but because we were so high up the wind was pretty wild! We went on a long hike through many different trails. It was gorgeous! There were lots of different trails, mini waterfalls and streams and a great view of the mountains! here are some pics...

This may seem like a lame picture but its the only one I took on the trails :)

This was a gi-normus tree that looked like someone cut it in half!

Bad pic.

We took Molly and let me tell you....she zonked out for the rest of the day as soon as we got home lol I don't think she got off her bed for at least 4 hours to get a drink. This was quite the excercise for her

Tell me this isn't the fattest, grossest, sloppiest dog you've ever seen. Look at those rolls!

Easter

I'm a little slow and I didn't take any 'worth while' pics, but this year for Easter Matt and I went to my parents house after church. We had a yummy ham dinner (of course) and decorated easter eggs with my brothers. It was really nice!

These are my bird nest's I made for my Sunbeams. I realize they look like barf in this picture but I swear they were cuter in person lol i think the kids liked them. I tried convincing them that the eggs were real bird eggs so be really careful not to drop them! But then i saw their believable faces and felt bad so i had to dig myself out of that hole :)
I made my first carrot cake...and besides the lop-sided-ness I think it turned out pretty good. I was so nervous of it being a complete disaster so i went to the store and bought colored frosting to decorate it so it would at least taste good. (but i made the white cream cheese frosting). Matt 'the artist' insisted on creating the design, one carrot. lol here is him in action!

Tah dah!

In the Motherhood

Ok you HAVE to watch this lol so funny. Chelsea Handler is my favorite comedian ever and these are halarious!

so sad

I didn't win any Rascal Tickets. I called every hour from 7am - 6pm for 5 days. What a devastating week

Problem solved.

This is probably going to be the most exciting post ever. Just to warn you,

So every time I take Molly to the dog park or my parents, I have to lay down a blanket on my back seat because she sheds like a horse (Do horse's shed? lol), slobbers like a...bulldog, and rolls around like a bowling ball. Anyway, I'm getting tired of vacuuming out my car because even though the blanket helps catch the hair and drool, it definitley doesn't cover the back of the seats or floor.

I went on Amazon.com (love that place) and found the greatest invention ever:

How exciting, eh?

A Brother's Journey

I just finished reading this book...it was a tear jerker just as expected.
I read the first book that was written by his older brother ('A Child Called It') when I was around 15 or so. I read 'A Brother's Journey' shortly after, and just decided to read it again. I figured with all my free time at work I could be more productive rather than looking at blogs and the news all day ;) I finished this in 4 days and it was VERY good!

This entire week from 7am-7pm, Monday - Friday, the Portland radio station 99.5 is giving away sets of RASCAL FLATTS concert tickets EVERY hour!!! I was sooooo upset that I missed the date that tickets went on sale. And they sold out in one day. I will be sitting here at work with the radio in my ear listening very closely every hour lol...SO hopefully by Friday I will be able to say 'I Kari, am going to see my favorite band of all time on April 4th'. Cross your fingers for me.

Skateboards and Movies

This weekend was movie-filled to the MAX. During a normal month, I might rent two movies. Well, this weekend I rented 3 and watched all 3. AND I reallllly wanted to see Horton Hears a Who, but didn't have time :).

Friday, we watched 30 Days of Night with a group. I hate scary movies with a passion, I don't see any point to them. This was about 30 days of darkness in Alaska, and these vampires come out and try to eat everyone. Yeah, bad idea. I had my face covered for probably half of this movie because it was so gross!!! No nightmares that night though :)
I watched Into the Wild on Saturday night, I really liked it! It was the kind of movie you need to be 'in the mood for' though. It was pretty slow moving but I think it had a really good message.

Watched the Bee Movie and was pretty disappointed. I love animated movies, and thought this was so funny in the beginning. But by about half way through the movie I was bored, and didn't see any point to the movie at all lol. So I didn't make it all the way through :)

On Sunday, while Matt was at work I took Molly to the big park right by out house....she tested out her skateboarding skills :) When the skateboard wasn't moving she kept trying to eat and attack it, but once I gave it a push she would hop right on and paddle herself down the road! It was pretty entertaining :)
p.s. I went to the Doc for that weird bump behind my ear and discovered it is a cyst. Ew. So if it doesn't magically disappear I'll have it removed.. exciting news, I know ;)

Throbbing....

* This is gross to me. If you are easily grossed out just don't look...*
I was sitting at work and all of the sudden this throbbing pain was behind my ear. I swear its bigger than this picture shows lol but I have a rock hard lump behind my ear that hurts SO bad. It appeared so fast and out of the blue! I didn't sleep well last night because I always sleep on my left side and any time I rolled over in my sleep it woke me up because the pillow was touching it. I hate it, I don't know where it came from or what the heck it is! I looked it up online and there was everything from lymphoma, cancer, infections, blah blah blah....if It doesn't go away in a couple days I'll head to the Dr but its all very gross and painful...has anyone else ever had this happen??? I doubt it, but its worth a shot :)
:)

P.S. Pretty sure I set my own record for 3 posts in one day! Must be a slow day at work!

46645

I love Google

....I use them daily and thought I'd spread the word just incase you don't know about these things.... If you haven't checked out their new 'street view' yet - its a must! Go to Google.com, click on 'Maps', try typing in your address up top. And if the street has a blue outline on it, you can actually see a real picture of what you will see on that exact address. I know they don't have this option for all cities yet - but if I'm looking up directions to somewhere I like to check it out on Street View (I'm a visual person) to see what I'm getting into lol- check it out if you haven't already.

Also...if I'm going somewhere or need to look up a number to a restaurant I just type in the number 46645 (GOOGL) on my cell phone for who I'm sending the text message to. Then just type in the name of the place, the city, and the state. Then send the text and it will write you back within seconds giving you the addresses and phone numbers for any matches in that area. It also works if for weather, sports, flight schedules, etc. just send messages to 46645. Its rad, and its free. Thanks Google for making life easier lol

I'm craving to have....

This: This:

And lots of this:

Total value = over $1000

aka: not in my budget.

Darn.
