So. last night I was having one of my 'chicken' nights where I get scared that someone's trying to get in my apartment...come to think of it, I should video tape myself just once, it'd probably be really entertaining to watch me freak myself out. But it wasn't just ME freaking myself out, Molly kept barking at the front door and patio door! I checked the peep hole and never saw anything...when I was about to go to bed at 12:30 I had to take Molly out to go to the bathroom....
I checked the peep hole one more time and it was clear so I opened the door, looked around and went downstairs - fast - I made her hold it forever because I didn't want to go outside : ) so she bolted down the stairs.
Luckily I had her on a leash....when we got to the bottom of the stairs I hear things grunting, breathing, and making this awful high pitched squeak. I look up and about 5 ft away from us are a freakin family of javelinas (Havelinas?)!!! The one in the front had to have been twice the size of Molly, and Molly's fat.
So. Here I am frozen because I think I'm gonna die. Take a moment and picture this, please.
The group of 8-10 wild pigs come bolting towards molly and I and I dragggg molly by the neck as fast as I could and ran into my apartment, shaking. hahaha
can I just say they are the ugliest, SMELLIEST, meanest animals ever??? They were hanging out in the wash area for the next hour and I was watching them. They had a baby with them so I'm guessing that's what made them want to eat Molly so they could protect their baby?
Anyways, just another awesome welcoming to Arizona : )
I guess 3 years ago, one of my residents was out taking her dog out, the Javelina's came up and attacked (and yes, killed) her dog, and bit the lady's leg.
